Animals Food

silk is almost three months Animals Food by Jonathan Saffran Foer already around me. For three months I have repeatedly pressed about it I read. I have wanted to important because many people have commented that one magic sentence: " This book changed my life ." What a statement! The one must leave it in the truest sense of the word melt in your mouth, right? What must it be for a book that people can wake up in our fast-paced world? We're threatened by so many diffuse things like terrorism, global warming, unemployment, economic crisis, etc., and prefer to take refuge in digital parallel worlds, consumption, labor, as we grapple with us and our environment. My curiosity was aroused and more as I finished reading the book over the holidays.

Eating Animals by Jonathan Saffran Foer has been lying around here for 3 month roughly. I've been constantly dodging it throughout the whole time. However, I HAD to have it because people were uttering this unique, magical sentence: " This book changed my life. " What a statement! One has to savour this in the truest sence of the word, hasn't he? What kind of book has the power to arouse people nowadays? We're threatened by so many diffuse things such as terrorism, global warming, unemployment, the economic crisis an so forth. We prefer to take refuge into parallel digital lifes, consumerism, work, instead of questioning ourselfs and our environment at least a tiny bit. Eventually I got curious enough to venture this reading over the holidays. And know what? It actually DID change my life. I doubt that I will turn into a vegetarian. But I am perceiving things differently, acting differently -. More conscious So why do not you give it a go if you dare to face the bare facts?

The title can easily imagine that this is about is the consumption of meat products. To factory farming. Industrialized slaughter. Contaminated, infected meat. Environmental impact. Ill-bred animals. Do not worry, I will not oscillate the moral cudgel. How and what we eat is a very complex and individual matter. That will be decided at any on their own. Personally, I like meat, fish and seafood. I have spent much time on the farm of my grandparents. to slaughter animals to eat them for me was always normal and it would be hard to find a purely moral grounds, which can not be seen anymore. But now it comes: silk I have read the book, I have never once bought meat, fish or meat in the supermarket. I can not eat burgers anymore, because I resent it regurgitates. This is the great strength of the book: it lists the facts that we all know but have pushed very far from us. We would rather not think too much about what we just move in there. Would we do it would probably come up to us really everything. I do not think that this book will make me a vegetarian. But it has aroused in me a need, a little closer look to waive excess and for a few to enjoy high quality things consciously. Meat was once a luxury that one has once indulged in a week. Today we are overwhelmed by an overabundance of cheap meat produced under conditions zweifelhalften. About what food you eat or do not want you to think is also a luxury. A luxury that I can indulge in good conscience.
